Artist: Emma Lopes
Emma Lopes is an artist and illustrator, born in Scotland and brought up in the rolling hills of Somerset, UK. Spending time in wild places is her favorite pastime with Mother Nature as her muse. A core belief that filters into every aspect of her work is that all life is interconnected.
Working in watercolour, gouache, collage, and sometimes even marine debris, she uses detail, pattern and colour to focus our attention on the vibrancy and wonder of nature. Her art is a form of activism through celebration of a world we must fight to protect. Emma now lives on the coast of Portugal, where she makes paintings and collaborates on projects which communicate her passions.
Emma has collaborated with a variety of nature-centered organisations and NGOs, using her art to amplify their message. She also takes commissions for paintings and can create a design to be placed on the surface of an ecologically produced object.
Artist: Billy Kheel
Billy Kheel transforms felt and thread into captivating soft sculptures, wall hangings, portraits, and installations. Drawing on historical fabric techniques, his work commemorates and critiques the worlds of sports and pop culture. By using these materials, Billy challenges the traditional boundaries between art and craft. Across all his series, a signature sense of humor and warmth infuses his creations.
Billy is also a collaborative artist, partnering with major brands and organizations such as the NBA, Jordan Brand, NBA2K, Madison Square Garden, Nike, Hulu, the Knicks, and NBC on a variety of projects.
Artist: Sarah Krejewski
As an Elementary Art Educator in WI, Sarah loves being in her art room, creating, giggling, and working with young artists.
As an author and illustrator, Sarah creates an outlet for starting conversations about big feelings, such as anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. Her colorful children’s book, “Exactly You: The Shape of Your Feelings” helps people of all ages accept, love, and normalize everything they feel.
Sarah enjoys creating art with bright, happy colors and abstract shapes to share positivity with the world. She uses a combination of interior house paint, acrylic inks, and metallic enamel.
She also dabbles with hand painted wearable art such as beaded necklaces and polymer clay earrings, fabric decoration, and pretty much anything else she can splash with color.

Getting to know the artist
Helen believes that you become more and more yourself as you get older. What you like will change as you grow, and that’s okay! Her whimsical work has been shaped by the story of her life. Let’s get to know her a little better!
A Picture Person
Helen is dyslexic, which made reading as a child difficult. She loved Scandinavian fairy tales and became really good at reading pictures. The details became clues about what was happening in the story. Patterned wallpaper with “lots to look at” kept her mind busy. A lot of her time as a child was spent drawing! Later, she earned a degree in graphic design.

Artist: Tysen Knight
Tysen Knight is an International Artist, Muralist and Award-Winning Filmmaker.
Knight won the award for the category 'Best Feature Film' at Oregon Documentary Film Festival in 2018 for his documentary, "The Art Of Hustle: Street Art Documentary". He also won the Best Director Award in 2019 at Marina Del Rey Film Festival, for his second film, "The Art Of Hustle: Homeless Street Artist Documentary".
At the age of fifteen, Tysen won his first national art competition award. He received the NAACP: ACT-SO Achievement Program, Award of Merit, for his exceptional artistic skills.
Knight has won numerous awards and accolades for his philanthropic work, which includes:

Artist: Meera Ramanathan
I am a visual art educator and teach students UTK to 5th grade. I have a Master’s degree in History of Fine Arts, drawing, and painting from India and a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Visual Art from San Diego State University. I also have 9 years of experience working in an early childhood setting.
In 2022, I was awarded the Outstanding Elementary Visual Art Educator award by the California Art Education Association and my art program was awarded the Exemplary Program status.
I grew up in Chennai, India, and visual art had always been an important part of my life! I would often find myself creating clothes for my dolls out of fabric scraps using a needle and yarn at 6 years old or making handmade cards to give to family members using markers and crayons. My fondest memory is using okra to create prints on a piece of paper with paint that my parents displayed proudly for everyone to see at our home. This was a validating moment for me that established a strong sense of pride in what I made.
Artist: Aimee Lee
Aimee Lee is an artist who makes paper, writes, and advocates for Korean papermaking practices in the U.S. (BA, Oberlin College; MFA, Columbia College Chicago). Her initial Fulbright research helped her build the first hanji studio in North America and write her award-winning book, Hanji Unfurled.
She exhibits and is collected internationally; her work has shown at the Fuller Craft Museum, Islip Art Museum, Museum of Nebraska Art, Allen Memorial Art Museum, and the Korean Cultural Centers of the Korean Embassy in D.C. and Korean Consulate in NYC. Library collections that hold her work include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, Brooklyn Museum of Art, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Stanford University, UCLA, and Yale University.
She travels the world to teach and serves her regional community as an Ohio Arts Council Heritage Fellow, teaching papermaking and book arts at Oberlin College during their Winter Term. Funders include the US Fulbright Program, Korea Fulbright Foundation, John Anson Kittredge Fund, American Folklore Society, Center for Craft, Oak Spring Garden Foundation, and SPACES.
Her second Fulbright award as a senior scholar focused on further research of Korean papermaking tools, and continued her training since 2009 with various national and provincial Intangible Cultural Property Holders. She also trains the next generation of papermakers in the Korean tradition from the Korean diaspora and beyond at her dedicated hanji studio in South Euclid, Ohio.
My passage through art making travels through many forms, from music and performance to books and paper. While the heart of my practice meets the intersection of handmade paper and Korean lineage, strong arterial lines flow into fiber art, artists’ books, and installation. - Aimee Lee
Artist: Jordan DeWilde
I have been a K-12 art teacher for over 12 years.
My work has been recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois Art Education Association, and the Lowell Milken Education Center.
I currently teach at Legacy Academy of Excellence Charter School. I strive to create an inclusive curriculum by developing lessons with positive representation of diverse artists and issues.
In addition to teaching, I am a published author. I wrote my first book in early 2021 titled, 30-Minute Drawing for Beginners. The second is titled, Daily Drawing Prompts: A Year of Sketchbook Inspiration.
I am passionate about improving the state of art education. I have written several articles about current issues in the field. I've created professional development opportunities for art educators and filmed online learning activities with The Art of Education University.
More than anything, I love inspiring my students to think creatively and express themselves through visual art. I developed and filmed the children's drawing program, Jump into Drawing! with NBCUniversal's Bluprint, now Craftsy.
